Bella, Hello everyone, and welcome to surviving Trump. I'm Bella Goode, and today we continue our deep dive into one of the most polarizing figures of our time, Elon Musk, in this second episode of our five part series, we are zeroing in on his leadership, how he builds, inspires and sometimes terrorizes the teams behind his empire. It's important to note that the following analysis of Elon Musk's mental health and leadership style is based on observations prior to 2025 however, this background serves as critical context for understanding his current role in the Trump administration. By examining how Musk led his companies, balancing brilliance with volatility, ambition with impulsivity and vision with chaos, we can better assess why he appears increasingly unhinged and erratic in his current position of government power. So Elon Musk. Oh, have you heard of him? It's a name synonymous with innovation, controversy and relentless ambition, whether he's launching rockets, revolutionizing the automobile industry or making impulsive changes to a social media empire, Musk dominates headlines and shapes industries in ways few others can. His leadership style is often described as visionary, but also chaotic. His personality is larger than life, but also deeply polarizing to some. He's a genius pushing humanity towards a brighter future. To others, he's a reckless and unpredictable figure whose erratic decisions create instability. In this episode, we take a deep dive into his leadership style, his personality, and the impact both positive and negative he has on the companies that he's run. We will examine how his upbringing and mental state influenced his decisions, or influence his decisions, the complaints against leadership and the role his drug use may play in his behavior. By the end, we will try to answer a critical question, is Elon Musk a once in a generation innovator, or is his impulsive nature a warning sign of deeper issues? Elon Musk is not a leader who plays it safe. He doesn't aim for small wins. He dreams of reshaping entire industries, Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, The Boring Company, are all built on the premise of achieving what was once thought impossible. Musk's approach to leadership is best described as transformational meaning. He motivates people to push past their limits in pursuit of groundbreaking ideas. His vision of colonizing Mars, creating a self sustaining city on the Red Planet, and eliminating fossil fuel dependence has inspired millions. Even critics acknowledge that without Musk's bold leadership, the electric vehicle industry and private space flight would not be where they are today. However, there is a thin line between ambition and recklessness, and Musk's leadership often crosses into that risky territory. His companies operate under constant pressure to deliver on his aggressive timelines that are frequently unrealistic. Musk's leadership has driven remarkable innovation, but it's also led to Chaos, employee burnout and financial instability. Musk is not a distant CEO who delegates everything to subordinates. He is deeply involved in the details of his companies, from engineering decisions at Tesla to the software design of Twitter, which is now X. He is known to personally interview top candidates and review technical blueprints, sometimes questioning his engineers at a level that makes even seasoned professionals nervous, while his hands on approach ensures high performance. It also leads to micromanagement. Musk has a reputation for inserting himself into every process, making sudden changes and overriding experts. His demand for perfection means employees are expected to work grueling hours, often under fear of being publicly criticized or fired. While some thrive in this environment. Others find it unbearable. Musk has also been called a nano manager, meaning he doesn't just oversee big picture strategy. He involves himself in the minute details of his operations. However, his leadership tactics often rely on fear. Employees at Tesla SpaceX and X have described a culture of relentless pressure, public reprimands and sudden terminations. Musk does not hesitate to fire employees on the spot, sometimes for reasons that seem arbitrary. His handling of Twitter exemplified this approach after acquiring the company, Musk immediately fired. Half the workforce without first evaluating the importance of their roles. The layoffs led to technical issues, internal confusion and an environment of distrust. While some employees admire Musk's high standards, others see his leadership as toxic and demoralizing, Musk's philosophy is simple. Employees should be prepared to work as hard as he does. However, few people can keep up with his intense work ethic and demand for near impossible results. His success is partly due to his raw intelligence. With a background in physics, economics and engineering, he has a remarkable ability to identify business trends and direct flaws in reasoning. He often challenges conventional thinking and uses first principles reasoning, a method where he breaks problems down to their most fundamental truths before solving them. But intelligence alone does not explain his success. Musk is also fearless when it comes to risk. He bet nearly all his personal fortune on Tesla and SpaceX, when both companies were on the brink of collapse, most CEOs would have played it safe, but Musk he doubled down, refusing to accept failure. His risk tolerance is extremely high, which has led to both extraordinary successes and costly failures. Entrepreneurs tend to be competitive, hard working, obsessed with results, but Musk gets all of these taken to the extreme. He works 100 hours per week, sleeps on the factory floors, and expects his employees to match his intensity. He thrives on competition and is driven by the idea of making a global impact. However, his relentless drive can also make him impatient and difficult to work with. He has little tolerance for inefficiency, often dismissing employees who don't meet his high expectations. His obsession with speed and productivity sometimes come at the cost of stability and employee well being. So he's not just a businessman, he's a celebrity CEO, a meme Lord and an Internet provocateur. Unlike traditional executives, who carefully curate their public image, Musk thrives on spontaneity, irreverence and direct engagement with fans and critics alike. He has cultivated a unique personal brand that blends wit, unpredictability and rebellious attitude, making him one of the most recognizable figures in the world. His charisma is a major part of his appeal, whether he's trolling rival CEOs, playfully engaging with Tesla enthusiasts or dropping cryptic hints about new projects. Musk understands how to keep the public's attention. He is known from posting memes, joking about Tesla's stock price and making off beat references to pop culture, which endears him to his fan base in 2021 he even hosted Saturday Night Live, delivering a self deprecating monolog, where he had joked about his Asperger's diagnosis and poke fun as his sometimes controversial reputation, the move showcased his ability to laugh at himself. It reinforced his image as a non traditional, relatable billionaire. However, Musk's unfiltered personality has also led to numerous controversies. His impulsiveness, especially on social media, has landed him in legal trouble, caused PR nightmares for his companies, and alienated certain groups. His funding secured tweet in 2018 is one of the most infamous examples. Musk tweeted that he was considering taking Tesla private at $420 a share, claiming he had secured the necessary funding. The tweet caused Tesla's stock price to fluctuate wildly, leading to an investigation by the SEC. It was later revealed that no such deal had been finalized, and Muskers were forced to step down as Tesla's chairman and pay a $20 million fine beyond financial missteps, Musk's social media presence has been a lightning rod for controversy during the rescue of a group of Thai school boys trapped in his cave in 2018

Musk called one of the rescuers a pedo guy on Twitter after the diver had criticized Musk's proposed mini submarine rescue device. The comment resulted in a defamation suit, which Musk ultimately won, but the incident damaged his public image. Musk's leadership of x has further amplified his polarizing nature. After acquiring the platform in 2022 he made sweeping changes, such as reinstating previous band accounts, dissolving the company's content moderation board and abruptly laying on. 1000s of employees, while some praised his commitment to free speech, Others accused him of enabling harassment, misinformation and right wing extremism. His decision to charge for verification check marks was met with widespread backlash, with critics arguing that it undermined trust in the platform. His humor can also be insensitive or inappropriate. Musk frequently makes jokes about marijuana, Dogecoin and conspiracy theories, often without considering the wider implications. In 2023 he was widely criticized for posting a meme mocking Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, implying that he constantly asks for financial aid, given that Musk's Starlink system was providing critical internet services to the Ukrainian military, the joke was seen as tone death and damaging to international relations. In another instance, Musk tweeted that his pronouns were prosecute Fauci, referring to Dr Anthony Fauci, the former chief medical advisor during the COVID 19 pandemic. The tweet alienated many in the LGBTQ community by mocking pronouns while also signalling support for right wing conspiracy theories about Fauci Musk's brash, combative personality has also led to feuds with fellow billionaires and politicians. He has insulted Jeff Bezos. He's mocked Bill Gates about his weight, and publicly fought with US senators like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders over taxation policies. His dismissive attitude towards critics fuels his appeal amongst those who see him as an anti establishment figure, but also alienates potential allies. Despite his controversies, Musk remains one of the most influential voices in technology and business. His charisma and ability to capture attention, keep him in the spotlight, but his reckless social media behavior continues to pose risks to his businesses and personal reputation. For better or worse, Musk's personal persona is inseparable from his leadership, both a powerful asset and a persistent liability. Let's talk about drugs. Elon Musk's reported use of substances like LSD, ecstasy, ketamine and marijuana has raised concern about the intersection of drug use and leadership. While Musk has claimed that his ketamine use is for medical reasons, specifically for depression, reports suggest that he also has used other substances recreationally, including in professional settings. The impact of such behavior is two fold. It raises questions about the stability and reliability of its decision making. As the head of multiple high profile companies like Tesla, SpaceX, x and Neuralink, and it has drawn scrutiny from investors, regulators and government agencies that rely on his ventures for critical infrastructure and national security projects. One of the most publicized incidents involving Musk's drug use occurred in 2018 when he smoked marijuana on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast while recreational while recreational cannabis use is legal in California where the podcast was recorded, the incident had immediate consequences. There was scrutiny. NASA and the US government, in response, they launched a $5 million safety review of SpaceX to ensure a culture of workplace safety, given that the company holds billion dollar contracts with the agency, also, some Tesla board members privately voiced concerns that Musk's drug use combined with his erratic behavior on social media could endanger the company's stock value and relationships with key partners, and though not directly related to his drug use, Musk's unpredictable behavior has led to sec investigations and legal battles that some speculate may be exacerbated by substance abuse. Of course, Musk is not the first high profile leader to face scrutiny for drug use. Over the years, some have engaged in substance use, sometimes with little consequence and sometimes with career ending results. For example, Steve Jobs took LSD and marijuana, but apparently, he openly admitted to using LSD in his younger years and stated that it was one of the most important experiences of its life. He believed psychedelics helped him think differently and fostered creativity. Unlike Musk jobs, drug use was framed as part of a the counter cultural movement of the 70s, and it did not appear to interfere with his leadership in a way that alarmed investors. Then there's Bill Gates, he has admitted to experimenting with. LSD and his youth, however, unlike musk, his drug use never became a public issue, likely because it never coincided with his tenure as a corporate leader. Then there's Travis Kalanick, the former Uber CEO, who himself did not have widely reported drug use, but the company under his leadership was infamous for its party hard culture, which included rampant cocaine use amongst executives and employees. Kalanick was ultimately forced out due to a series of scandals, but the drug culture at Uber played a role in shaping its chaotic work environment. So while some leaders have managed to use drugs without apparent consequences, the risks remain significant. One of the most pressing concerns is compromised decision making as drug use, particularly in high stakes business or political environments, can impair judgment and lead to erotic choices. The ability to make calculated, rational decisions is crucial in industries where billions of dollars and global influence are at stake. A single poor judgment call, especially in the fields like aerospace, artificial intelligence or an energy could have far reaching consequences beyond decision making. Regulatory scrutiny once posed a major risk for musk, particularly in industries like aerospace, Defense and Energy, where government contracts require high levels of oversight. However, now that Trump is president and musk holds a key role in the administration, those concerns have shifted dramatically, rather than facing heightened regulatory scrutiny, Musk now operates from within the government structure itself, raising new questions about oversight, ethics and accountability. With Musk's direct influence over federal policies and defense initiatives, concerns about his reported drug use and erratic behavior take on a new national security implication. Previously, his security clearance was reportedly limited due to concerns about foreign contacts and substance use, but with his newfound authority in the Trump administration, those restrictions may no longer apply. This raises troubling questions. Has Musk been given access to highly classified intelligence? Are national security protocols being ignored due to his personal relationship with Trump? If Musk's behavior becomes more unstable or compromised by substance abuse, the risk now extends far beyond his businesses. It directly affects national governance and the US security interests, even if drug use doesn't directly impact Musk's ability to lead, the erosion of public trust remains a significant issue. Musk's personal brand is now not only tied to Tesla and SpaceX, but to the federal government itself. Allegations of instability or reckless behavior could undermine confidence in the administration's decision making, particularly amongst us, allies and defense partners, while Trump has shown a high tolerance for Musk's eccentricities, others within the government, military and intelligence agencies may view his behavior as a liability in an administration that is already facing intense scrutiny over its governing practices, Musk's well documented impulsivity, mood swings, substance abuse reports could become a major Flashpoint, and not just for his businesses, but for Trump's White House as a whole. Previously, concerns about Musk's erratic behavior could be dismissed as a private business matter, but now that he is wielding government power, the stakes are a lot higher as Musk consolidates influence over multiple industries ranging from space exploration to artificial intelligence to digital media, concerns about his leadership will not fade. Instead, they will only intensify, particularly if further reports of drug use conflicts of interest or reckless decision making emerge while he holds a key position in government, the question is no longer whether Musk is a risk to his own companies, it's whether he is a risk to the country itself. As I mentioned at the start of this episode, our analysis of Elon Musk's mental health and leadership style is based on observations prior to 2025

however, this background serves as critical context for understanding his current role in the Trump administration. Elon Musk has openly acknowledged that he struggles with mental health, mood swings, extreme stress, raising concerns about how these factors influence his decision making as a leader. While Musk has never provided an official diagnosis. He has mentioned suffering from bipolar disorders like symptoms, and described his emotional highs and lows as extreme, given his relentless work ethic, history of trauma and reported drug use, experts and observers have long questioned whether his mental health. Plays a role in his more impulsive, erratic and even self destructive decisions. Understanding Musk's past leadership, both its triumphs and its turmoil, helps explain his current instability, his patterns of reckless decision making, inability to handle criticism, extreme responses to stress and unpredictable emotional shifts were once problems confined to the tech industry now as a key figure in Trump's administration, those same behaviors are playing out on the national stage, affecting everything from economic policy to military strategy as we transition into the next episode this foundational knowledge of Musk's mental landscape, leadership tendencies and personal struggles will be essential for understanding how his past behaviors have escalated in his new role, and why they now pose a direct risk to national stability. Musk's emotional volatility is well documented. He's known for shifting from intense optimism to deep frustration within minutes, sometimes publicly, venting his emotions in ways that damage his business interests in 2018 Musk gave an interview to the New York Times where he burst into tears and admitted that he was emotionally exhausted and overworked. He described the past year as being the most difficult and painful of his career, calling it excruciating. Similarly, in 2020 Musk had a bizarre Twitter meltdown where he tweeted over a dozen erratic messages over a short time span, including a statement claiming that Tesla stock price is too high in my humble opinion, the tweet alone wiped out $14 billion in Tesla market value within a single day, infuriating investors. His inability to regulate his emotions in high pressure moments raises concerns about his stability in leadership roles where millions of people rely on His judgment. His emotional outbursts are not just limited to Twitter or interviews, but sometimes happen in company meetings as well, where employees have reported his sudden changes in mood, going from excited and optimistic to furious and dismissive in the span of a few minutes. His mood driven decision making extends beyond Twitter rants. He has a history of abrupt, reactionary business moves that leave employees, investors scrambling. His $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in 2022 became a master class and erratic leadership showcasing his impulsiveness, emotional reactivity and disregard for structure, he immediately fired half of the Twitters workforce. Terminated 1000s of employees without evaluating their roles, leading to technical failures, legal battles and internal chaos. In a fit of anger, he dismissed Twitters CEO, CFO and policy chief within days of taking over, even though their expertise was critical for the platform stability, his habit of making abrupt changes was further exemplified by his chaotic handling of Twitter's policies. He introduced a new verification system where users could produce a verification check mark, but the decision led to widespread impersonation issues and misinformation. Within hours, he was forced to roll back the change, but not before advertisers panicked and pulled out, resulting in a massive drop in ad revenue. His management style also involved pressuring employees with ultimatums, including a demand that Twitter employees either commit to an extremely hardcore work ethic or resign immediately. That was called the fork in the road. 1000s chose to quit rather than work under his unpredictable leadership. Musk's erratic decision making is not limited to Twitter. At Tesla, he has been known to make major company wide decisions without consulting senior executives, including the sudden disbanding of Tesla's public relations department in 2019 which made Tesla The only major automaker without a PR team. The decision left the company vulnerable to misinformation and bad press, yet Musk refused to reinstate the department despite repeated concerns from employees and shareholders. Similarly, at SpaceX, he once gave his team a six week deadline to build a new rocket, even though similar designs had taken well over a year in the past to build, employees reported working 80 hour weeks in a panic to meet the deadline only for the rocket to fail spectacularly during the launch, and actually, that's happened a couple of times. Musk's mental

health struggles undoubtedly contribute to both his brilliance and his volatility. His hyper focus and relentless energy have allowed him to achieve what few others could but his. Emotional instability has also led to damaging mistakes. His behavior has also impacted employee morale. Musk's mood swings and sudden policy reversals create an unstable work environment, contributing to high turnover rates at Tesla and Twitter now. X, many employees have left due to the stress of working under a boss whose moods and decisions are unpredictable, his leadership style has led to multiple legal and regulatory challenges, including multiple SEC investigations due to his reckless social media activity, his erratic behavior and reported drug use have also raised concerns about national security, especially given his involvement with SpaceX, which holds sensitive government contracts beyond the financial and legal risks, Musk's own reputation has suffered due to his behavior, his public meltdowns, feuds, reckless decision making have alienated many former supporters. His increasing political involvement and inflammatory statements have further divided public opinion, with some seeing him as a visionary, while others are viewing him as dangerously unstable. This sharp divide in public perception isn't just about opinion, it's a direct reflection of how Musk's mental state and leadership style are inseparably linked his incredible intelligence, risk tolerance and relentless ambition have helped him build some of the most innovative companies in history. For all of his confidence, power and influence, however, he's not immune to criticism. In fact, he has repeatedly demonstrated that certain topics trigger a very strong emotional reaction from him, often leading to defensive outbursts, lawsuits or erratic social media rants. Understanding what needles Musk the most offers insight into his deepest insecurities and vulnerabilities, whether they stem from his ego, business ambitions or personal contradictions, perhaps the most effective way to provoke Trump is to challenge his authority. Musk thrives on control and expects absolute loyalty from his teams. Reports from Tesla SpaceX and X employees suggest that Musk does not tolerate being questioned, even when his ideas are flawed or unrealistic. Engineers at x or Twitter described a meeting in which Musk failed to understand how the platform software architecture worked, yet when his ignorance was pointed out, he became visibly frustrated and fired those who contradicted him. Similar accounts have surfaced from Tesla and SpaceX, where those who pushed back against Musk's aggressive timelines or grandiose claims, often find themselves out of a job. His sensitivity to dissent suggests that Musk sees questioning as a direct challenge to his authority, making it one of the easiest ways to provoke a reaction. Of course, it comes at a price. Typically, another particularly sensitive area for Musk is his cyber security practices. After taking control of Twitter or X, he fired a large portion of the company's cyber security team, a decision that left the platform vulnerable to security breaches and hacks. When cyber security experts pointed out these risks, Musk dismissed their concerns and downplayed the importance of Twitter's security infrastructure. His critics argued that his reckless approach, especially given Twitter's role in hosting government officials and global discussions, made the platform a target for misinformation and cyber threats. If Musk has one blind spot, it's his belief that he understands technology better than anyone, and pointing out flaws in his cybersecurity decisions is a direct hit to his ego. Another pressure point for Musk is his history of legal and regulatory battles, while he presents himself as a maverick who thrives on disrupting industries, his businesses have faced numerous lawsuits and investigations for violating labor laws, environmental regulations and corporate governance policies, from union busting allegations at Tesla to the SEC lawsuit over its infamous funding secured tweet Musk has repeatedly found himself at odds with the Law. His strategy, however, is to paint these legal challenges as an attack on his genius, rather than legitimate concerns about corporate ethics. When called out on his violations, he often lashes out with regulators, calling them corrupt, incompetent or biased, by emphasizing how often his initiatives run afoul of established laws and ethical business practices. Critics force Musk into a defensive posture that undermines his image as an infallible leader. Perhaps the most public way to frustrate Musk is to criticize the feasibility of his grand visions. Musk loves to position himself as the architect of the future. Whether it's colonizing Mars, integrating AI with the human brain, or revolutionizing transportation with the Hyperloop tunnels. However, many of these projects remain largely theoretical, plagued by engineering challenges, regulatory obstacles or financial impracticalities. When experts have pointed this out that his Mars colonization timeline is wildly unrealistic, or that Neuralinks human trials are nowhere near as advanced as Musk suggests he has reacted with hostility, dismissing critics as short sighted and negative for musk, these big ideas define his legacy, so when their plausibility is challenged. It cuts directly into his identity as an innovator. Musk is also particularly sensitive about his approach to artificial intelligence. While he has issued dire warnings about AI becoming an existential threat to humanity, he has also invested heavily in AI development, most notably through ex AI, his open AI rival, critics argue that his fear mongering about AI is hypocritical, as he is both warning of AI dangers and simultaneously profiting from its expansion. This contradiction has led some to speculate that Musk's AI rhetoric is less about genuine concern and more about controlling the narrative to benefit his own companies. He has taken fence at suggestions that he is stifling AI progress for his own gain, making this another effective way to needle him. Finally, Musk has demonstrated an almost obsessive need to be perceived as a technical expert, even in fields outside of his domain, while his background in physics and engineering gives him credibility in certain areas, there have been multiple instances where he's been caught making misleading or incorrect technical claims, his optimistic promises about Tesla's full self driving capabilities, which he has claimed were only A year away for nearly a decade have consistently failed to materialize, frustrating investors and regulators in 2018 after Consumer Reports found that the Tesla Model threes breaking system had severe flaws, Musk initially dismissed the issue before being forced to fix it through a software update Any suggestion that Musk does not fully understand a technology or has exaggerated the feasibility of one of his projects tends to provoke immediate, often defensive reactions from him. Ultimately, Musk thrives on control adoration and the perception of invincibility. He is easily provoked by those who question his authority expose his flaws, particularly in his technical expertise, or highlight contradictions in his business and political dealings, while his supporters see him as a brilliant visionary. His distractors understand that his greatest weakness is his inability to handle criticism without lashing out. If there was one thing that gets under Musk's skin, it's being forced to confront the limits of his own genius. So with that, let me just wrap up by saying that he is indeed a paradox, a man who embodies both the brilliance of a once in a lifetime entrepreneur and the recklessness of a leader whose worst instincts threaten to undermine his own achievements. He has reshaped entire industries. He's revolutionized electric vehicle, space exploration, artificial intelligence and even global internet access. His risk tolerance, relentless work ethic and sheer force of will have brought humanity closer to a future once thought impossible, and yet at the same time, his erratic leadership, emotional volatility and ruthless decision making raise profound ethical and practical concerns. Is musk, the genius risk taker humanity needs to push the limits of innovation or see the dangerously self absorbed figure lacking in fundamental human empathy. His achievements are undeniable. His decision to bet his entire fortune on Tesla and SpaceX, when both companies were on the verge of collapse, was a defining moment of visionary risk taking, while other CEOs would have played it safe. Must double down and secured last minute funding and drove his companies to global dominance. His pioneering work with Starlink satellites has not only transformed internet accessibility, but has also played a critical role in Ukraine's defense against Russia, showing how technologies can influence geopolitics. His companies continue to push boundaries. From Neuralinks, work on the brain computer interfaces to space X's mission to colonize Mars, initiatives that could fundamentally change the future of humanity. And yet, for all his successes, Musk's failings are just as glaring. His brutal, often impulsive management style has left 1000s of employees burned out, traumatized or suddenly jobless overnight, his reckless. Twitter takeover was a case of chaos. He fired half the workforce without a plan, forced grueling work conditions on those who remained, and made impulsive policy changes that alienated advertisers, employees and the public. His habit of retaliating against critics, punishing dissenters, raises alarm bells about his tolerance for opposing viewpoints, whether it's employees being fired for questioning him or public figures being banned from Twitter for mocking him. On a personal level, Musk appears deeply isolated. Despite being one of the most influential people on the planet, he has admitted to struggling with relationships, and many have who have worked with him say that he lacks fundamental human empathy, his fractured relationships with his children, his ex wives, along his distant, often ruthless approach to management, paint a picture of a man who excels at building machines but struggles to maintain human connections. Is this the price of genius, or is it simply the result of unchecked narcissism. Musk has the potential to be remembered as one of the greatest minds of the 21st century, a risk taking entrepreneur who pushed humanity towards a better future with its unrelenting pursuit of innovation. But there's another possibility. There's another possible legacy, that of a dangerous and reckless figure whose unchecked ego, impulsive decisions and disregard for ethical responsibility ultimately led to chaos and destruction. His impact on technology, business and politics is undeniable, but whether he will be celebrated as a game changing visionary or condemned as a cautionary tale remains an open question. Ultimately, the choice is left to the observer. Is he musk, a genius pushing civilization forward, or a volatile force playing with fire who could just as easily bring it all crashing down? I hope you'll join me next week when we continue our series on Elon Musk, before you go, I have two favors to ask. Join the conversation. And on that note, I leave you some humor from Borowitz Dateline Washington, the Borowitz report Donald J Trump's threatened 200% tariff on alcohol from the European Union has

caused Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, to angrily resign. The Pentagon confirmed on Friday, speaking to reporters, Hegseth said that he considered the tariffs on Irish whiskey, French Sancerre and the exquisite Sherry of Portugal to be an act of war in an 11th hour bid to keep Hegseth on board, Eric Trump, the president of Trump winery, offered Hegseth A free lifetime supply of the company's product, but he was immediately rebuffed. I've had those Trump wines, and they taste like shit. Hegseth said, Jesus, I'd rather be sober until next time. Stay engaged, stay informed, and, most importantly, stay in the fight.
